Guest Blog Post Guidelines

Guest Blog Post Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Bone Talk blog! We periodically partner with health experts to showcase thought leadership and provide valuable resources and insight to our readers. The below guidelines outline submission specifications.

Blog Post Themes and Topic Suggestions

  • Nutrition for Bone Health

  • Exercise and Physical Activity

  • Safe Movement

  • Diagnosis and Treatment

  • Mental Health

  • … and more! Have a suggestion? We’d love to hear it!

Logistics

  • We’ll initially agree on a topic and then determine a submission deadline.

  • After you’ve completed your draft, submit it as a Word document via email.

  • We will review the draft and make suggested edits (minor), if applicable. We will also finalize accompanying images and links at this time.

  • Upon final approval, we will let you know when the post is scheduled to go live and provide you with a link to the post. You may then share it with your own networks.

  • Contact: Carina May, cmay(@)bonehealthandosteoporosis.org

Quality Specifications

  • Word Count: Guest posts should be about 700-800+ words in length. This is our sweet spot, but if it makes sense, longer articles are ok too.

  • Images: At least one main image should accompany each post and should add value to the information being presented. Additional images can also be included throughout the post, but are not required. We often use an image of the guest writer or we can use an agreed-upon stock image.

  • Originality: All content must be original. We do not accept syndicated or duplicate content.

  • Bio: Authors are invited to submit a short bio and photo.

Formatting Guidelines & Tips

  • Submit your draft as a Word document, Calibri 11pt font, single spaced and left-aligned.

  • Include a title at the top of the page.

  • Use sub-headers in the body of the post, if applicable.

  • Use bulleted lists (if applicable) and brief paragraphs for easy reading.

  • Include statistics and link to the appropriate sources.

  • Include links to relevant information (~2-3 links).

  • Provide two images of yourself (one vertical and one horizontal).
